09/09/2010 Nut Cases, ie, Christian Pastor on the warpath…so wrong!

I have thought about this all day today and in fact, have had a few conversation with people about this situation. The Pastor, definitely is a nut case.  To burn the Holy Qur’an is in effect burning the Holy Bible or the Torah.  All have the same base, the Old Testament.  The man is an ignorant fool and he is jeopardizing Americans of all faiths around the world.

In NYC, yes, there is definite feelings about the Cultural Center being so close to Ground Zero, but then so are other churches.  However, it is an approved site for the center with all the approvals in place.  We here in the US need to remember that this country was founded by people fleeing injustice.  Religious freedom foremost. Our Constitution guarantees the right to practice our chosen faith and without fear of harassment.  There are many who forget this.

I lost friends and family in the 9/11 attack yet I also know that among the victims were American Muslims.  We are a multi-cultural, multi-faith country.  My anger is not against the religion of Islam but on those who took lives in the name of God – which is forbidden in all faiths!  Zealots - fanatics are in all religions and I hope that we can avoid issues this Saturday – in fact – all days of the week and years to come.
