17/06/2010 FIFA fever

I can honestly say that I have been watching futbol- soccer for a long time.  I now see that this game has finally gotten a foothold within the United States.  Great game to watch and the fans are funny!

Today, Mexico played against France….and WON!!!  Historically France has won in playoffs against Mexico..but not this time!  It was a good game with strong defenses on both sides but in the end the goals went to Mexico.

I loved watching the fans.  They traveled to South Africa in winter (for them) and decked themselves out in their teams colors.  Braved the cold and sat thru the game. 

I give it to the athlets and the way they can run…and run and run!!!  45 minutes at a time with a 15 min break before the next 45 minutes.  90 minutes of play and these men…wow!  They can play!

So while some are just discovering futbol-soccer fever and have fallen in love with the game, I for one am enjoying all that is FIFA!
